Man Shot Dead, Another Wounded in Bihar Incident

Patna, Dec 22 (NationPress) In a disturbing event, a man was shot dead while another sustained critical injuries during an assault in the Danapur area of Patna on Saturday evening.
The victim, identified as Gorakh Nath, succumbed to his injuries instantly, while Ranjit Rai, also referred to as Dahi Gop, was severely injured and has been admitted to Paras Hospital, where he is currently fighting for his life.
The two men were targeted while they were on their way back from a cremation ceremony. The attack occurred as they approached the Pethia Bazar region of Danapur.
Danapur SDPO Bhanu Pratap Singh confirmed the unfortunate event, noting that the injured individual was quickly transported to Paras Hospital, where his condition remains critical.
Sources indicate that Ranjit Rai was the main target of the attackers, while Gorakh Nath was caught in the line of fire, resulting in his tragic death.
This violent incident has caused significant alarm within the local community, leading to immediate action from law enforcement.
The district police are actively conducting raids to capture the perpetrators. Investigations are ongoing to determine the motive behind the attack and to ensure justice is served.
In a separate incident in Muzaffarpur, two distinct shootings on the same day left residents deeply concerned. Both events occurred in different locations, causing unease in their respective neighborhoods.
The first shooting happened in the Sahibganj police station area, where a young man named Mahesh Paswan was targeted and shot in the mouth.
Family members claim that Paswan was attacked by local liquor traders.
He has been hospitalized in critical condition. The motive for this attack is still being investigated by the police.
The second incident took place at Ambara Chaube Tola, within the Saraiya police station jurisdiction. In this case, Chotan Pathak, who had recently been released from prison for an assault, reportedly climbed onto the roof of a painter named Akhilesh Thakur and shot at him. Following the incident, Pathak fled the scene, and police are conducting operations to capture him.
