Patna, Dec 30 (NationPress) A young individual was critically injured after being targeted by assailants on a motorcycle in the outskirts of Patna on Tuesday, causing widespread fear in the vicinity.

The shooting took place on Soyma Road, falling under the jurisdiction of the Saksohra police station in Barh subdivision during the morning hours.

The victim has been identified as Gore Lal Yadav. Reports from a police official indicate that unidentified attackers on a bike suddenly opened fire at him before fleeing the scene.

Consequently, Gore Lal collapsed on the ground, suffering from gunshot wounds to both his head and abdomen.

Upon receiving alerts, law enforcement promptly arrived at the location and transported the severely injured individual to Barh Subdivision Hospital.

After initial treatment, medical professionals referred him to Patna for more comprehensive care.

The attending physician confirmed the severity of his injuries, noting that the victim's condition is critical.

Family members stated that Gore Lal Yadav was on his way to evaluate his agricultural lands when the attack occurred.

Authorities are actively investigating the incident to determine the motives behind the assault and to catch the responsible parties.

In an unrelated episode, a simple dinner turned violent in Ghasiadih village under the Rajauli police station area of Nawada district on Monday night.

As per police accounts, Rajesh Manjhi, along with his friend Gopal Kumar and two other youths, were enjoying chilli chicken when they were confronted by some unknown individuals who initiated a dispute.

What started as a verbal disagreement soon escalated into violence.

Gopal Kumar recounted that the attackers returned after a brief pause and unexpectedly launched a knife assault.

During this attack, Rajesh Manjhi was stabbed multiple times -- in the abdomen, thigh, and arm -- leading to significant blood loss.

According to Gopal Kumar, the knife actions were so rapid that they were unable to process what was unfolding.

Villagers quickly transported him to a local hospital, from where he was redirected to Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) due to the critical state of his injuries.

Another youth, Amarkant Kumar, also incurred injuries during this incident.

The officer in charge at Rajauli police station stated that upon being informed, they arrived at the scene and initiated legal proceedings.

A case has been lodged, and efforts are currently in progress to identify and apprehend the suspects using CCTV evidence and eyewitness testimonies.

The police have assured the public that the perpetrators will be captured soon.
