Jammu, March 1 (NationPress) BJP President and Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda urged party MLAs in J&K to establish strong grassroots connections with the populace and prioritize the development of their respective constituencies.

Nadda spoke during the final session of a two-day BJP training workshop designed for its first-time legislators, known as the ‘Vidhayak Prashikshan Shivir’, held at the base camp of the Mata Vaishno Devi shrine in Katra, J&K.

A supplementary training workshop was conducted to enhance the effective participation of legislators during the upcoming budget session of the Assembly starting on March 3.

The BJP president emphasized the necessity for legislators to maintain a deep connection with the citizens and to ensure the development of their respective assembly constituencies.

Nadda highlighted the concept of ‘Karyakarta Nirman’ and encouraged MLAs to look beyond the pursuit of political positions.

“Positions are temporary, but the trust of the people is permanent. You should engage actively with communities via ‘Krishi Vigyan Kendras’, meetings with Asha workers, and parent-teacher interactions at government schools. Listening to resolve the concerns of the people is crucial. Regular visits to scheduled caste and scheduled tribe communities are essential to ensure inclusive development,” Nadda advised the MLAs.

Union Minister Jitendra Singh also addressed the legislators, stating, “BJP will significantly contribute as the main opposition in the J&K legislative Assembly, having secured a substantial mandate by winning 29 seats with a vote share surpassing even that of the ruling NC.”

Jitendra Singh later remarked, “Our national ideology, along with the issues affecting the populace, will be presented by the MLAs during the budget session. Our legislators are well-prepared to articulate their arguments.”

He also informed reporters that the BJP will highlight both inside and outside the assembly the drawbacks of lacking what he termed the ‘double engine government in J&K’.

Prior to this, J.P. Nadda paid homage at the Mata Vaishno Devi shrine atop the Trikuta Hills in Reasi district, J&K, accompanied by his wife, Mallika Nadda, Jitendra Singh, BJP national general secretary in charge of J&K affairs, Tarun Chugh, and BJP state president Sat Sharma.

While interacting with officials of the Mata Vaishno Devi shrine board, Nadda commended the commendable work being done by the board for the welfare of pilgrims and the development of the shrine.
