Krishna Kumar Dubey, a 40-year-old employee in the private sector, discussed how the pension scheme provided by the Government of India has instilled in him a sense of renewed hope and financial stability.

He elaborated that after discovering the scheme at a local bank, he enrolled without delay and now contributes Rs 1,000 monthly. “This initiative is not merely about saving money. It offers peace of mind, knowing that in my old age, I won’t have to rely on anyone financially. It grants me dignity,” he added.

Krishna Dubey also sent warm birthday wishes to the Prime Minister, saying, “We are thankful to PM Narendra Modi for considering individuals like us. On his 75th birthday, I wish him a long and healthy life. May he keep leading the nation with the same vision.”

His wife, Preeti Dubey, echoed her appreciation for the scheme and the Prime Minister’s leadership. “Thanks to the Atal Pension Yojana, my husband is relieved of worries regarding old age. We hope that PM Modi continues to dedicate himself to the nation for many more years. We wholeheartedly say, ‘May all our years add to his life!’” she expressed emotionally.

For families like the Dubeys, the APY represents more than just a policy; it symbolizes a commitment to a secure and self-sufficient future. On the Prime Minister’s birthday, they felt there was no better way to honor his legacy than by celebrating the positive changes his vision has ushered into their lives.

The Atal Pension Yojana (APY), introduced in 2015, aims to offer pension security to workers in the unorganized sector. Any Indian citizen aged between 18 and 40 can enroll and select a fixed pension amount ranging from Rs 1,000 to Rs 5,000 monthly, which they will receive upon turning 60. As of April 2025, over 7.65 crore accounts have been established under this scheme.
