Ravindra, originally from Rajam in the Vizianagaram district, resides in an apartment in LV Nagar with his wife, who had left for a visit to her family a month prior. His relationship with Mounika, a Visakhapatnam resident, began during the lockdown through a dating app.
On the day of the incident, following a heated dispute, he fatally attacked her. After dismembering her body, he attempted to clean up the scene to eliminate any traces of blood and used air freshener to mask the odor.
Later, he confided in a friend about the crime. When warned about the repercussions, he decided to turn himself in at the Gajuwaka Police Station.
Ravindra claimed that Mounika was attempting to extort money from him, leading him to devise a plan to end her threats. Police investigations revealed he had already paid her approximately Rs 3.50 lakh, and she had allegedly taken his employee ID card to blackmail him, prompting him to create a duplicate for work purposes.
