Bengaluru, March 28 (NationPress) A shocking case has emerged involving a software engineer from Maharashtra who allegedly fatally stabbed his wife at their home and concealed her remains in a suitcase, according to police reports.
The deceased has been identified as Gauri Anil Sambekar, 32, residing in Doddakannammanahalli within the jurisdiction of Hulimavu police station.
The accused, Rakesh Rajendra Khedkar, 36, is reported to have inflicted wounds to her neck and abdomen.
Authorities disclosed that her body was folded and stuffed into a trolley bag.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (South East), Sarah Fathima, stated, "The couple, originally from Maharashtra, relocated to Bengaluru a year ago. The landlord alerted the police after discovering the body inside the suitcase. The victim held a degree in Mass Media, while the husband was employed at a private company and worked remotely."
"The victim's parents have contacted law enforcement, and the police are investigating the dynamics of the couple's relationship. A report was made to the police control room, and further details are under investigation," DCP Fathima stated.
The suspect is currently on the run, prompting a police operation to locate him.
Reports indicate that after the incident, the accused reached out to the victim's parents.
The victim's family subsequently informed the police in Maharashtra, who in turn notified the authorities in Karnataka.
DCP Fathima promptly arrived at the scene to oversee the inquiry.
Investigators believe that Rakesh may have committed the act in the early hours of Wednesday, March 26.
In a prior alarming event, a single woman named Mahalaxmi was murdered in Bengaluru on September 3 by her partner, who dismembered her and concealed the remains in a refrigerator.
The suspect, Mukthiranjan Roy, was later found deceased, hanging from a tree near a crematorium in Bhuinpur village within Odisha's Bhadrak district.
