Patna, Aug 14 (NationPress) In a new twist in the lead-up to the Bihar Assembly elections, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav has leveled serious allegations against NDA figures Dinesh Singh and Veena Devi, claiming they possess duplicate Elector Photo Identity Card (EPIC) numbers and are listed as voters across multiple constituencies.
In a post on X, Yadav asserted that JD(U) MLC Dinesh Singh holds two EPIC IDs -- REM0933267 and UT01134527 -- registered in different Lok Sabha and Assembly constituencies situated in separate districts.
He also alleged that Singh submitted two distinct counting forms during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process, with signatures on both forms confirmed by Election Commission officials.
Furthermore, Yadav previously claimed that Singh’s spouse, Vaishali MP Veena Devi, is also in possession of two EPIC IDs -- UTO1134543 and GSB1037894 -- and is registered in varying Lok Sabha and Assembly constituencies.
He pointed out discrepancies in her recorded age across the two IDs and mentioned that she submitted two separate forms with differing signatures during the voter list revision, both of which were verified by EC officials.
“This constitutes fraud orchestrated in collusion with the Election Commission, the BJP, and the NDA,” Yadav stated.
“Doesn’t this cast doubt on the impartiality of the Election Commission? Has it become a mere instrument for the BJP’s electoral victories? Is it now serving as a ‘Troll Commission’ or an ‘Earthworm Commission’ focused solely on the ruling party, ignoring the common populace?” he questioned.
He urged the EC to issue notices to Veena Devi and Dinesh Singh from both constituencies and to take appropriate measures.
As of now, both Veena Devi and the Election Commission have not released any official statements. However, these allegations have ignited a new controversy in Bihar’s political landscape, with opposition parties accusing the EC of intentional irregularities aimed at favoring the NDA in the elections.
Political analysts caution that if the EC fails to take action, it could lead to broader questions about the transparency and credibility of the electoral process in Bihar at this crucial pre-election juncture.
