Shukla stated that serving the people of Telangana is both a privilege and a source of pride.
He characterized Telangana as a region noted for its rich cultural heritage, strong traditions, and notable progress. He expressed confidence that the knowledge gained during his previous term as Governor of Himachal Pradesh would aid him in effectively serving the people of Telangana.
Earlier, Shukla was sworn in as Governor during a ceremony at Lok Bhavan, where Chief Justice of the Telangana High Court, Justice Aparesh Kumar, administered the oath.
He surprised attendees by taking the oath in Telugu.
The ceremony was attended by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, state ministers, Assembly Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar, and Legislative Council Chairman Gutha Sukhender Reddy.
Also present were former Himachal Pradesh Governor Bandaru Dattatreya, state Congress chief Mahesh Kumar Goud, state BJP president Ramchander Rao, Chief Secretary K Ramakrishna Rao, DGP B Shivadhar Reddy, and other high-ranking officials.
The new Governor is scheduled to address a joint meeting of both Houses on March 16, coinciding with the commencement of the Assembly Budget session.
