Chennai, Aug 6 (NationPress) A new scandal has emerged within Tamil Nadu's Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) as its founder, Dr S Ramadoss, claimed that his mobile device was unlawfully compromised at his Thailapuram home. This recent revelation intensifies the already significant divide between Dr Ramadoss and his son, party leader Dr Anbumani Ramadoss.
The phone hacking allegation follows a previous explosive assertion made by the PMK founder, who alleged that his son had installed a covert listening device in his residence.
Dr Ramadoss has even gone as far as to state that "Anbumani is the son who has spied on his father the most globally".
In light of these shocking claims, Dr Ramadoss’s aide lodged an official complaint at the Kottakuppam Deputy Superintendent of Police’s office in Villupuram district.
The complaint indicated that the electronic device might have been infiltrated via a Wi-Fi connection.
The ongoing conflict between the father and son has created turbulence within the PMK’s internal dynamics, with both leaders striving to maintain their authority and influence within the party.
In response to the bugging allegations, PMK Headquarters Secretary Anbazhagan submitted separate complaints to both the Kilianur police station and the Villupuram Cyber Crime unit.
Acting on these reports, an eight-member police squad conducted a search of Dr Ramadoss’s residence on July 17.
During this investigation, they uncovered an electronic device, which was subsequently sent to forensic experts for thorough examination.
Law enforcement officials have confirmed that the inquiries into both the phone hacking and the alleged bugging are being pursued concurrently.
The forensic analysis is anticipated to be pivotal in ascertaining whether any unauthorized surveillance or data breach has occurred.
The internal discord in the PMK, particularly between the father and son, has escalated beyond mere political disagreements, entering a realm of mutual suspicion and surveillance allegations. Party insiders are concerned that this feud could have enduring ramifications for PMK’s reputation and organizational stability as the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections approach.
