Jaipur, Dec 29 (NationPress) The New Year in Rajasthan is anticipated to commence with chilly winds and winter precipitation, as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has released a forecast indicating light rain in certain areas of the state.

The IMD reports that a Western Disturbance will activate on December 31 and January 1, resulting in light rainfall across northern and western Rajasthan.

Rainfall is primarily expected in the districts of the Bikaner division and Shekhawati region, which includes Bikaner, Churu, Sikar, Jhunjhunu, and nearby locations.

Weather experts predict that cold winds may escalate, causing a drop in temperatures, while dense fog is also possible in certain areas during the initial week of January.

Radheshyam Sharma, the Director of the Meteorological Centre in Jaipur, stated that due to the onset of a new and robust Western Disturbance, cloudy conditions are likely in parts of the Bikaner division and Shekhawati region on December 31 and January 1.

He added that light rain or drizzle could occur in various places. On December 31, cloudy weather is expected in Bikaner, Sri Ganganagar, Hanumangarh, Churu, Jhunjhunu, and Sikar districts. On January 1, similar cloudy patterns are forecasted for Sri Ganganagar, Hanumangarh, Churu, Jhunjhunu, and Alwar, with potential light rain or drizzle in isolated regions. Meanwhile, night temperatures have sharply decreased across the state.

On Sunday, 23 cities recorded minimum temperatures below 10 degrees Celsius, while seven cities experienced temperatures falling below 5 degrees Celsius.

Numerous cities within the state, including Mount Abu, Fatehpur, Karauli, Dausa, Pali, and Sikar, recorded temperatures in the single digits.
