New Delhi, May 11 (NationPress) In a remarkable achievement, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has apprehended Kashmir Singh Galwaddi, a prominent Khalistani operative and one of the fugitives from the notorious 2016 Nabha jail escape. The arrest took place in Motihari, Bihar, through a collaborative effort with local law enforcement.

Kashmir Singh, hailing from Ludhiana, Punjab, had been evading capture since the jailbreak and maintained close ties with the foreign-based Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) terrorist Harwinder Singh Sandhu, also known as Rinda.

He played a pivotal role in Rinda’s Nepal-centered terror network, tasked with offering shelter, logistical assistance, and funding for Khalistani operatives.

As per the NIA, Singh had actively facilitated terrorists who fled to Nepal post-attacks in India, including the rocket-propelled grenade (RPG) assault on the Punjab Police Intelligence Headquarters.

This arrest is part of the NIA’s ongoing investigation, which commenced suo moto in August 2022, aimed at dismantling the increasing collaboration between banned Khalistani factions and organized crime syndicates.

The inquiry has uncovered how terrorist organizations like BKI, Khalistan Liberation Force (KLF), and International Sikh Youth Federation (ISYF) were trafficking arms, explosives, and IEDs from across the border to execute attacks in India.

Singh’s significant role in this network led the NIA Special Court to proclaim him an offender. He had successfully evaded arrest despite several non-bailable warrants, with a reward of Rs 10 lakh announced for any information leading to his capture.

The NIA had previously filed charges against numerous suspects, including Rinda and his associates. The arrest of Kashmir Singh signifies a substantial victory in the agency’s efforts to combat Khalistani terror groups and their international support networks.

Further investigations are ongoing to uncover additional connections and operatives within this nexus.

This development is anticipated to considerably undermine the operational capabilities of Khalistani terror organizations active across the Indo-Nepal region.

Point of View
