Bhubaneswar, Nov 9 (NationPress) The President of the Odisha Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Manmohan Samal, asserted on Sunday that the comprehensive and inclusive development of Nuapada is not just a commitment but a strong assurance from the party.
During a press briefing in Nuapada, Samal accused the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) of engaging in substandard politics by making unfounded claims against the BJP and its candidate for the Nuapada Assembly seat, Jay Dholakia.
"We are conducting a positive and principled campaign in Nuapada. Every promise made to the residents of Nuapada will be honored," stated the State BJP President.
He noted that following the establishment of the double-engine government in Odisha, public trust in the BJP has grown.
According to Samal, the people of Nuapada have decided to engage in the development journey initiated by the BJP government.
He urged the residents of Nuapada to vote for BJP candidate Jay Dholakia in the Assembly bypolls.
Addressing accusations of 'traitor' and 'betrayal' from the Leader of Opposition and former Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Samal remarked: "Let’s remember what transpired on March 7, 2009. Who do these terms truly refer to?"
"In 2009, the BJD severed its alliance and betrayed the BJP. The entire state is aware of this betrayal. Instead of partaking in constructive politics, the BJD is sidestepping real issues by resorting to derogatory terms like 'betrayal' and 'theft.'"
Samal recommended that both the Congress and BJD, who have governed for over 75 years collectively, should reflect on their contributions to the people of Nuapada district.
Pointing out the developmental initiatives taken by the BJP-led state government, the State BJP President highlighted that the BJP government has designated Khariar Road as a municipality and Komna as a notified area council.
A sub-registrar's office has been established in Komna, he added.
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has unveiled projects amounting to Rs 1,421 crore for Nuapada, emphasizing tourism and irrigation development.
The State BJP President guaranteed that Nuapada will evolve into a center for fish farming, with a fisheries college planned for the district.
Additionally, he mentioned that the Nuapada railway station will receive upgrades under the Amrit Bharat Station scheme.
"The process of land acquisition for the Bargarh–Nuapada railway project is nearing completion. The district will prioritize agriculture-related industries, and the cultivation of medicinal plants will be promoted in Sunabeda. A modern Atal bus stand is under construction at Khariar Road, alongside a sports complex. To enhance transport convenience, a Rail Over Bridge will be built soon," said Samal.
