Bhubaneswar, Feb 5 (NationPress) The Odisha Government has on Thursday initiated a significant reshuffle in the ranks of senior Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers across several vital departments.
As per a notification released by the Odisha General Administration and Public Grievance (GA&PG) Department, senior IAS officer and Development Commissioner-cum-Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) Deoranjan Kumar Singh has been assigned the additional role as ACS for the Steel and Mines department. This officer, part of the 1993 batch, also oversees the State Planning and Convergence Department.
Additionally, IAS officer Surendra Kumar, previously serving as ACS for the Steel and Mines Department, will now take on the role of ACS for the GA&PG Department, while retaining his responsibilities as ACS for the State Parliamentary Affairs Department.
The Odisha Government has also appointed Bishnupada Sethi, a 1995-batch IAS officer and Officer on Special Duty in the GA&PG Department, to lead the Odisha Forest Development Corporation (OFDC). He will continue to hold additional responsibilities as Chief Administrator for the KBK region.
In a similar vein, Chithra Arumugam, ACS for the Labour and ESI Department, who also oversees the Science and Technology Department, will maintain her additional role as the Director General for Training Coordination at the Gopabandhu Academy of Administration in Bhubaneswar.
Senior IAS officer Dr. Arabinda Kumar Padhee, currently serving as ACS for the Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment Department and Chief Administrator for the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration in Puri, has been appointed as ACS for the Revenue and Disaster Management (R&DM) Department, while also keeping his role in the Temple Administration.
The government announced that the additional appointment of Development Commissioner Deoranjan Kumar Singh as ACS for the R&DM Department will conclude once Usha Padhee assumes her responsibilities.
Furthermore, the Odisha Government has permitted Usha Padhee, a 1996-batch IAS officer and ACS for Housing and Urban Development, to retain her additional role as Chairperson of the Odisha Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (IDCO). The previous appointment of Sanjeeb Kumar Mishra as Chairman of IDCO will be terminated upon her taking charge.
