New Delhi, Sep 12 (NationPress) Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla is set to spearhead discussions on women's empowerment and women-led development towards a Viksit Bharat during a significant national conference in Tirupati on Sunday, as stated by an official.
In addition to inaugurating the National Conference of the Committee on Empowerment of Women from both Parliament and State/UT Legislatures, Birla will unveil an exhibition and launch a commemorative souvenir during this event.
Scheduled for September 14-15, the two-day conference will see participation from over 100 delegates nationwide. The central theme of the conference is ‘Empowering Women to Face Challenges of Emerging Technologies’.
Discussions at the conference will delve into India's digital transformation, as well as the opportunities and risks associated with Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Blockchain, Robotics, Quantum Computing, Biotechnology, and Cybersecurity, particularly with respect to their impact on women, according to the official statement.
This inaugural conference of the Committees on Empowerment of Women in Tirupati symbolizes a revitalized national conversation on women's empowerment, focusing on preparing women to take the lead amidst rapid technological advancements.
Special attention will be directed towards closing the gender digital gap, enhancing women's presence in STEM fields, ensuring digital safety, and bolstering women's roles in entrepreneurship and innovation, the official noted.
The conference will also explore strategies aimed at incorporating women into emerging technology-driven economies to realize the vision of a Developed Bharat by 2047.
Key topics such as ‘Women Led Development for Viksit Bharat’, ‘Gender Responsive Budgeting’, and ‘Empowering Women to Face Challenges of Emerging Technologies’ will be part of the agenda.
Attendees will include Andhra Pradesh Governor S. Abdul Nazeer, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Rajya Deputy Chairman Harivansh, and Chairperson, Parliamentary Committee on Empowerment of Women D. Purandeswari.
The inaugural session will be addressed by Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly Speaker C. Ayyannapatrudu and Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council Chairman Koyye Moshenu Raju.
