New Delhi, 25 May (NationPress) In a recent series of bold ceasefire breaches and infiltration attempts, Pakistan made three failed attempts to send terrorists across the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir from May 6 to May 10.
A senior Army Commander informed IANS that each infiltration effort involved small groups of three to four individuals, coordinated under the direct supervision of the Pakistani Army.
“All infiltration attempts were effectively thwarted by vigilant Indian troops,” he remarked.
These infiltration efforts coincided with heavy shelling and firing from Pakistan along the LoC, particularly near the Terror Monitoring Group (TMG) area, where a strategically vital Indian Army post is positioned at an elevation exceeding 11,000 feet. This critical high-altitude post, primarily responsible for preventing infiltrations, played an essential role in the counteraction.
Since April 25, Pakistani forces escalated their offensive with small arms fire, which intensified to heavy-caliber shelling by May 7, resulting in over 100 heavy shells being fired in a single day. Fortunately, no casualties were reported on the Indian side.
Army officials credited this success to superior combat readiness, reinforced infrastructure including bunkers and tunnels, and advanced surveillance technologies.
The Indian Army executed precision-guided strikes, successfully destroying multiple Pakistani bunkers and launch pads used for the attacks.
“While Pakistan’s firing was disorganized and erratic, our response was strategic, targeted, and highly effective,” a senior officer from the Indian Army stated.
The strong and swift retaliation from the Indian side compelled Pakistan to seek a ceasefire, demonstrating the efficacy of India’s defensive stance along the LoC.
This very post also played a crucial role during Operation Sindoor, where the Indian Army neutralized various terrorist camps across the border in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).
Situated directly opposite the Leepa Valley in PoK, the post provides a commanding view of the first village in PoK, granting Indian forces a significant advantage in both elevation and visibility.
The area was secured by Indian forces during the 1971 war, expanding Indian territory by approximately 40 square kilometers. Due to its height and fortifications, this post remains one of the most vital positions along the LoC.
Brigade commanders confirmed the interception of enemy communications indicating that Pakistan incurred considerable losses due to India’s precision strikes.
“We possess evidence that our response caused severe damage to Pakistani positions. The intercepted communications reveal their disarray and losses,” an officer confirmed.
In light of continuous infiltration attempts and cross-border violations, the Indian Army remains vigilant and prepared, ensuring the safety of its borders and asserting its tactical supremacy.
