Pappu Yadav Demands Justice After Meeting Nalanda Assault Victim's Family
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Patna, April 3 (NationPress) Purnea MP Rajesh Ranjan, known as Pappu Yadav, made a trip to Nalanda on Friday to meet the family of a woman who was reportedly molested and assaulted in an incident that has sparked significant outrage.
Upon reaching Patna, Pappu Yadav proceeded to Dhibarapar village, situated within the Noorsarai police station jurisdiction, where the incident occurred.
The atmosphere in the area has been tense following the incident, which involved a group of miscreants allegedly molesting the woman and attempting to sexually assault her on March 26.
Characterizing the occurrence as profoundly shameful and troubling, the MP stated that it exemplifies a disturbing level of brutality in society and has damaged the reputation of both Nalanda and Bihar.
“I visited the victim’s family to show my support and provided them with financial aid of Rs 50,000. I encouraged them to remain strong and maintain their livelihood in the village,” he mentioned.
As per reports, the victim’s husband was employed in Maharashtra, while she was living with her in-laws in the village.
Pappu Yadav further demanded swift and strict action against the perpetrators. “I will urge the government and local authorities to ensure a rapid trial and severe punishment. The fact that criminals feel emboldened enough to record and disseminate such heinous acts raises grave concerns about law and order,” he asserted.
He also expressed broader societal concerns, indicating that in cases like this, society often shifts blame onto the victim instead of holding the assailants accountable.
“What gives these criminals such audacity? There must be a united effort—both from society and the administration—to eradicate this mindset and guarantee justice,” he added.
This incident has once again highlighted critical issues surrounding women’s safety, accountability, and societal attitudes, with increasing calls for stringent enforcement and justice for the victim.
After his visit to Nalanda, Pappu Yadav headed to Nawada district to offer condolences to the devastated family of JD(U) MLA Vibha Devi.
Pappu Yadav visited Pathra Inglish village, where he met former State Minister Rajballabh Yadav and his wife, Vibha Devi, to extend his sympathies following the tragic loss of their son, Akhilesh Kumar Yadav.
He also spoke with family members and assured them of his support during this difficult time.
Akhilesh Kumar tragically lost his life in a road accident on March 19, leaving the family in profound grief.
Reports indicate that the accident transpired near his residence in Pathra Inglish village, under the Mufassil Police Station jurisdiction in Nawada.
He was driving his Thar SUV late in the evening when the vehicle lost control while navigating a sharp turn, crashing into a roadside palm tree. Locals rushed to the scene, extricated him from the wreckage, and transported him to a nearby hospital.
Sadly, he succumbed to his injuries during medical treatment.
The tragic event has left the family and local community reeling.
Numerous political figures have been visiting the family to express their condolences.
Recently, Mokama MLA Anant Singh and Bihar Agriculture Minister Ram Kripal Yadav also called on the grieving family.
Pappu Yadav’s visit is part of ongoing condolences from political leaders, standing in solidarity with the family during this challenging period.
