Patna, Jan 20 (NationPress) Purnea MP Pappu Yadav announced on Tuesday that he intends to petition the High Court for a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into the dubious death of a NEET aspirant at a women's hostel in Patna, the state capital.

Earlier today, the MP paid a visit to the girls' hostel connected to the incident and engaged with local residents and students. Voicing serious concerns about the circumstances surrounding the death, Yadav claimed that it was a case of murder, contrary to the narrative of suicide being circulated.

In an interview with IANS, Pappu Yadav stated, “A murder occurred at the Perfect Hotel. This is clearly a murder. I have repeatedly emphasized that there is a lack of accountability regarding the hostel, which is not even registered properly.”

He further criticized the handling of the medical examination, questioning, “Despite PMCH being developed at a cost of Rs 5,000 crore, its report is being disregarded and the case has been referred to AIIMS. Why was this done? It seems like a conspiracy has taken place.”

Yadav also raised concerns about the presence of two unidentified boys in the hostel and inquired why the incident is being characterized as a suicide.

“Why hasn't the hostel manager been arrested? He should be detained and interrogated. The safety of girls is at stake here,” he asserted.

He highlighted attempts to cover up similar cases, including the Jehanabad ‘Nirbhaya’ incident, urging Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to guarantee the protection of female children.

“I will approach the High Court to demand a CBI investigation into this issue,” he concluded.

In the meantime, the Bihar State Women’s Commission has initiated suo motu proceedings regarding the suspicious death of the NEET aspirant.

Chairperson Professor Apsara is set to visit Jehanabad on Wednesday, January 21, to meet with the family of the deceased and assess the situation firsthand.

Prof. Apsara has reached out to the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) in Patna, calling for immediate action against the perpetrators and requesting a comprehensive investigation report to be submitted to the Commission.

She assured that the Commission is vigilantly monitoring the case and that no guilty party will escape justice.

Following the Commission's intervention, the hostel operator has been apprehended, and a Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been formed to investigate the matter.

The victim, a resident of Jehanabad district, was preparing for the NEET examination while residing at a hostel in Patna.

Her death under suspicious circumstances has sparked statewide outrage and protests led by students and social organizations.

The situation regarding the suspicious death of the NEET aspirant in Patna intensified on Monday, as the Congress party organized protests against the Bihar government.

On that day, Congress leaders and workers gathered at Income Tax Chowk in the state capital, chanting slogans against the Nitish Kumar administration and the police.

The demonstration was spearheaded by Bihar Congress in-charge Krishna Allavaru and State Congress President Rajesh Ram, during which Congress workers also burned an effigy of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
