Patna, January 22 (NationPress) The suspicious demise of a NEET aspirant from Jehanabad, who was residing at a girls' hostel in Patna, has taken a contentious political turn. Purnea MP Rajesh Ranjan, popularly known as Pappu Yadav, has adopted a confrontational approach, making serious allegations against the Bihar Police and questioning whether an influential individual is being shielded.

Pappu Yadav has accused mafia elements connected to an alleged sex racket operating in Patna of receiving undue protection from the government apparatus.

He has called for the immediate police custody of hostel owner Manish Ranjan for thorough interrogation, suggesting that the accused may have been hastily jailed to shield someone powerful.

On Thursday, the MP launched a fresh onslaught against the government and police via a social media post.

He raised questions about which leader's or minister's son, purportedly in a constitutional position, is involved in this case.

Furthermore, he challenged the Bihar Police on whom they are attempting to protect by breaching all norms, alleging that the victim’s family is being unjustly targeted and defamed.

He also questioned who is safeguarding mafia figures linked to the purported sex racket in Patna, asserting that he will not allow this matter to be buried.

Pappu Yadav had previously visited Prabhat Memorial Hospital, where the student was initially admitted.

He accused the hospital management and doctors of misleading the police, claiming they provided inaccurate information about the student's condition during her treatment, which allegedly skewed the investigation's early direction.

He stated that clarity only emerged post the autopsy findings.

In light of the ongoing controversy, Pappu Yadav introduced a new initiative and announced a helpline number for female students residing in girls’ hostels across Bihar.

He urged students to not live in fear and to seek immediate help if they encounter any threats or issues.

"I am personally ready to assist if necessary, and I am prepared to face any repercussions," he declared.

The incident continues to evoke political reactions, with growing demands for prompt action, transparency in the investigation, and enhanced safety measures for female students in hostels.
