New Delhi, Nov 29 (NationPress) A political clash ignited following a reminder from the Rajya Sabha Secretariat, urging MPs to avoid using phrases such as 'Vande Mataram' and 'Jai Hind' within Parliament to preserve decorum. This led to fierce backlash from the Opposition, accusing the BJP-led NDA of discomfort with the symbols of India's Independence and unity.
The uproar traces back to a memorandum distributed on November 24, prior to the forthcoming parliamentary session, which called for adherence to established protocols.
The Parliament bulletin emphasized, "The decorum and the seriousness of the proceedings of the House require that there should be no 'Thanks', 'Thank You', 'Jai Hind', 'Vande Mataram' or any other slogans raised in the House."
In a robust response, Samajwadi Party spokesperson Abbas Haider remarked, "This is the same BJP government that opposed India's freedom. Their parent organization, the Hindu Mahasabha, comprised individuals who always supported British rule...
