Patna DM Alleges Instigation of BPSC Exam Protesters

Patna, Dec 25 (NationPress) Patna District Magistrate Chandrashekhar Singh has asserted that the demonstrators from the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) exam are being influenced by certain individuals and coaching centers that have no direct link to the examination.
He noted that many leaders of the protests are not candidates themselves and are disseminating unfounded rumors to incite the genuine candidates.
"On Wednesday, protesters deviated from the designated protest zone in Gardanibagh and assembled near the restricted vicinity close to the BPSC office on Nehru Path. In spite of multiple appeals from the authorities to return to the assigned area, some individuals persisted in their demonstration. The police employed 'mild force' to disperse the protesters from the restricted zone," Singh explained.
Singh's comments followed an incident where the Patna Police resorted to cane-charge against the BPSC candidates at Nehru Road and Bailey Road near the BPSC office.
The demonstrations were focused on the demand for the cancellation of the BPSC exam conducted on December 13.
Protesters were stationed in Gardanibagh, voicing their concerns and dissatisfaction regarding the examination process.
The district police are currently under scrutiny for their management of the protests, especially regarding the use of cane-charge on the demonstrators.
However, the DM defended the police actions, indicating they were crucial for maintaining law and order.
“We will implement stringent measures against those inciting candidates or causing disruptions. We have identified specific coaching institutes involved in these activities,” Singh stated.
“Certain social media operators are accused of misrepresenting facts and spreading unfounded rumors, which is exacerbating the unrest,” Singh added.
He also highlighted an incident at Gardanibagh Hospital on December 23, where some troublemakers entered the hospital, misbehaved with medical personnel, and engaged in vandalism.
“A case has been registered against individuals who trespassed into restricted areas, caused disturbances, and incited public unrest. Strict actions will be enforced against those responsible,” he concluded.
