Patna Police Warns Guru Rahman to Avoid Protest Area Until January 3

Patna, Dec 29 (NationPress) The Patna police have issued a warning to Guru Rahman, widely recognized as Daroga Guru in Bihar, advising him to steer clear of the dharna (protest) location in Gardanibagh until January 3.
Rahman visited the Gardanibagh police station, where he engaged with an officer of Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) rank.
The officer reportedly warned him against stirring up the protesting Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) candidates.
Rahman confirmed this interaction, stating, "I received a notice from Patna police and went to the Gardanibagh police station to meet the officers. An SDM was present and advised me not to visit the protest site in Gardanibagh until January 3."
He mentioned that the conversation with the police officers was conducted in a "healthy atmosphere", and he felt no pressure during the discussion.
Rahman clarified that his concerns revolved around the normalisation process and the disorder reported at the Bapu Examination Centre in Patna on December 13, rather than the leaked question papers issue.
Previously, Patna police accused notable educationists, including Guru Rahman, of inciting candidates to protest against the BPSC.
A notice was served to Guru Rahman, instructing him to appear before Sanjeev Kumar, the Station House Officer (SHO) of Gardanibagh police station, with evidence regarding the paper leak.
"Guru Rahman has been directed to stay away from the dharna site at Gardanibagh until January 3. If he disobeys this instruction, appropriate action will be taken against him," stated SHO Kumar.
On Friday, Guru Rahman and Khan Sir joined the students demonstrating at the protest site in Gardanibagh to show their support.
The district police believed their presence was inciting the protesters against the BPSC.
The protesters, mostly identifying as BPSC candidates, have been demanding the cancellation of the 70th Preliminary Competitive Test examination, citing malpractice allegations during the examination held on December 13.
The protesting BPSC candidates have maintained their demonstration since December 13 at Gardanibagh.
In reaction to the ongoing protests, the BPSC announced on Friday that the 70th BPSC examination will not be cancelled.
The BPSC had already declared a re-examination at the Bapu examination centre on January 4.
