Patna Police Request Guru Rahman to Present Evidence Regarding BPSC Examination Leak

Patna, Dec 28 (NationPress) Amidst ongoing protests from job seekers against the Bihar Public Service Commission, the Patna police on Saturday accused notable education figures, including private coaching specialist Guru Rahman, of inciting candidates over an alleged paper leak.

A notice has been issued to Patna-based Mohammad Rahman alias Guru Rahman, directing him to present himself before the Station House Officer of Gardanibagh police station with proof supporting his claims concerning the alleged paper leak.

The police cautioned that inciting students contravenes the law and urged educationists to refrain from making inflammatory remarks.

Gardanibagh SHO Sanjeev Kumar confirmed to IANS that Rahman has been summoned to assist with the investigation.

“If Mohammad Rahman possesses any substantial evidence related to the paper leak, he must disclose it to the police or face potential legal consequences. He has been requested to partake in the probe. We have urged him to assist with the investigation,” Kumar stated.

Failure to provide evidence will be interpreted as an attempt to damage the reputation of the BPSC, which could result in legal repercussions against him, as per a police official.

On Friday, Guru Rahman and fellow educator Faizal Khan alias Khan Sir joined the students protesting at the Gardanibagh dharna site to show their support.

Protesters have been demanding the annulment of the entire examination, citing claims of malpractice during the exam conducted on December 13.

In response, the BPSC firmly declared on Friday that the 70th BPSC examination will not be annulled.

Rajesh Kumar Singh, the examination controller of BPSC, confirmed this resolution, highlighting that while a few individuals are calling for the cancellation of the entire examination, the commission has received numerous emails from other candidates insisting that the exam should proceed.

Singh noted that the protesting students have not submitted any evidence to substantiate their claims, which he labeled as "fabricated".

A re-examination is scheduled for January for candidates whose exam was annulled at the Patna center. "The re-examination is set for January 4, 2025, and candidates can download their admit cards starting January 2, 2025. It will be held at various locations," Singh mentioned.
