Bhubaneswar, June 20 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Odisha on Friday to participate in a significant event commemorating the BJP government's first anniversary.
He received a warm reception at the Bhawaneswar Airport from senior party officials. Following this, PM Modi proceeded to Janata Maidan, the venue for the occasion, in a specially arranged carcade. Thousands of BJP supporters and local residents lined the route, waving the Tricolour and holding posters of the Prime Minister.
Various cultural groups from across the state welcomed PM Modi with traditional performances and music as he traveled from the airport to the Janata Maidan.
Supporters showered flower petals on his carcade. The Prime Minister acknowledged the crowd by waving as he made his way to the event.
Upon arrival at Janata Maidan, PM Modi, joined by Chief Minister Majhi and Odisha BJP president Samal, proceeded to the stage in a celebratory roadshow.
During the event, PM Modi will inaugurate and lay the foundation for numerous developmental projects valued at approximately Rs 19,000 crore. He will also engage with beneficiaries of the Lakhpati Didi scheme and honor around 25 distinguished freedom fighters from the state.
Furthermore, PM Modi will unveil the ‘Odisha Vision Document’ aimed at achieving the ‘Samruddha Odisha’ goal by 2036, coinciding with the centenary of the state's formation based on language.
The Prime Minister will address attendees at the Janata Maidan, showcasing the achievements of the BJP government in the state over the past year.
Extensive security measures have been implemented by the Odisha Police in collaboration with various agencies, including the State Police and Central Armed Police Forces in Bhubaneswar, in light of PM Modi’s visit on June 20.
A total of 133 platoons of police personnel and several senior officers have been assigned for security in Bhubaneswar.
This marks PM Modi’s sixth visit to Odisha within the last 12 months since the party assumed power in the state for the first time.
