How will PM Modi's tribute to Sant Kabir Das be remembered?

New Delhi, June 11 (NationPress) On the occasion of Kabir Jayanti, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday honored the mystic poet and saint, stating that his lifelong commitment was towards social harmony, and even today, he significantly influences the Indian psyche.

The esteemed 15th-century saint and poet, renowned for his profound couplets and powerful message of equality, continues to inspire generations with his timeless teachings.

In an emotional message shared on the social media platform X, Prime Minister Modi expressed, "My heartfelt tribute to Sant Kabir Das Ji on his birth anniversary, who dedicated his life to social harmony. While his couplets possess a simplicity of words, they are rich in emotional depth. This is why he still profoundly influences the Indian psyche. His contributions toward eradicating societal evils will forever be cherished with respect."

The Prime Minister also released a video message, reflecting on the lasting relevance of Sant Kabir's teachings. "Kabir Das Ji played a pivotal role in social construction; he was far ahead of his time. At a period when the world was in turmoil, Sant Kabir Das delivered messages of peace and unity," PM Modi remarked.

He quoted one of Kabir’s most memorable verses: "Jaati na pucho sadhu ki, puch lijiye gyaan," which translates to "Do not inquire about the caste of a saint; inquire about their knowledge."

PM Modi emphasized Kabir Das’ lasting philosophy of inclusivity and unity, stressing that he urged people to rise above caste and religious barriers.

Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari also paid tribute to Kabir Das, posting on X, "Honoring the great saint poet Sant Kabir Das Ji on his birth anniversary. Heartfelt wishes on Kabir Jayanti!"

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed homage to the saint, stating, "A symbol of harmony, devotion, and social awakening, millions of salutations to the great Saint Kabir Das Ji on his birth anniversary! His couplets continue to illuminate the path of truth, compassion, and equality for society."

J&K Lt Governor Manoj Sinha also paid tribute to the saint, stating, "Greetings on the auspicious occasion of Sant Kabir Das Ji Jayanti. Revered across all societal segments, Sant Kabir Ji's compositions have been a source of wisdom and inspiration for humanity. Let us renew our commitment to serve people with dedication and create a just, humane society."
