'Pariksha Pe Charcha' 2026: How is PM Modi Inspiring Students to Embrace Life and Professional Skills?
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
New Delhi, Feb 6 (NationPress) In an engaging and dynamic session during the ninth installment of 'Pariksha Pe Charcha', Prime Minister Narendra Modi connected with countless students, educators, and parents across India, underlining the vital significance of life and professional skills in both personal and career advancement.
In response to questions from students such as Aryan Sharma from Raipur, who sought advice on balancing academics with readiness for real-world challenges, and Priya Kumari from Guwahati, who asked about preparing for a career, PM Modi explored the essence of life skills.
"Its significance is not just substantial; it's exceptional," PM Modi stated, highlighting the daily challenges faced.
"For instance, what if parents need to leave suddenly? How do I cope? Why haven't we prioritized this? I practice my life skills, I learn new techniques, but I find it hard to pass them on. I visit someone, but they are unavailable. I went to the railway station, and I didn’t even know how to get a ticket. So, I asked ten people for directions. Therefore, life skills are something we must inherently grasp," the PM articulated.
Transitioning to professional skills, PM Modi encouraged students to ensure they remain fully updated.
Using relatable examples, he clarified, "Imagine I aspire to be a doctor, excelling academically; however, my theoretical knowledge alone won’t suffice. To become a heart specialist, while books provide foundational knowledge, they cannot replace hands-on experience. You only become proficient by working with patients through every phase of your training and enhancing your skills."
For those aiming to become lawyers, he remarked, "If you wish to practice law, knowing every section of the Constitution is crucial, but to effectively operate in a courtroom, you must start as an apprentice to an established lawyer. You need to acquire practical professional skills and evolve from there."
"That is why there should be no compromise on life skills; commit to it wholeheartedly," the PM emphasized.
"In terms of professional skills, it's essential to continually learn and adapt in your chosen field. Technology has evolved dramatically; even if you are 40, adapting to new technological advancements is imperative," he added.
The PM compared education and skills to 'twin siblings', but highlighted that skills are absolutely crucial in life.
Taking place on a Friday at 10 a.m., this year’s event introduced a major transformation by employing a pan-India format, allowing the PM to directly engage with young minds from various regions, including Devmogra in Gujarat, Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu, Raipur in Chhattisgarh, Guwahati in Assam, and his residence at 7 Lok Kalyan Marg in Delhi.
The event was streamed live on platforms such as YouTube, Doordarshan, and various news networks, attracting unparalleled participation.
Official statistics from MyGov revealed over 4.5 crore registrants through the portal, comprising 4.19 crore students, 24.84 lakh teachers, and 6.15 lakh parents.
Additionally, 2.26 crore joined through school initiatives, culminating in an impressive total of 6.76 crore participants, underscoring the increasing concern regarding exam-related stress and the demand for comprehensive guidance.
