Amaravati, June 22 (NationPress) On Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his commendations to the citizens of Andhra Pradesh following the remarkable Yogandhra event held in Visakhapatnam, which set a new Guinness World Record during the 11th International Day of Yoga. "Yoga brings individuals together, once again! Kudos to the people of Andhra Pradesh for the incredible way they have embraced Yoga into their lives. The Yogandhra initiative and the program in Visakhapatnam, where I participated, will continue to inspire countless individuals toward better health and wellness," the Prime Minister expressed on 'X' in response to the Guinness World Records announcement.
"Today, an astounding 300,105 participants took part in the largest yoga lesson ever, in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, India - organized by the Government of Andhra Pradesh to mark the International Day of Yoga," a statement from Guinness World Records highlighted.
Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) Ayush Prataprao Jadhav, who also took part in the event, shared his thoughts on 'X' regarding Andhra Pradesh's impressive accomplishment. "This extraordinary achievement is a reflection of the collective spirit of every citizen. I extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone whose enthusiasm and steadfast commitment made this historic milestone a reality," he stated.
The MoS emphasized that under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Modi, yoga has evolved into a global phenomenon, uniting minds, bodies, and hearts worldwide. "The Yogandhra world record is not merely a statistic; it symbolizes India's timeless wisdom and the strength we harness when we unite for a common goal. Congratulations to the people of Andhra Pradesh! Together, we’ve showcased Brand Vizag on the global map," he added.
Previously, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu remarked that this accomplishment belongs to every citizen of Andhra Pradesh.
A total of 300,105 individuals participated in the event organized by the Government of Andhra Pradesh, thereby establishing the record for the largest yoga lesson.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi led the event by performing the Common Yoga Protocol alongside participants at RK Beach. He was accompanied by Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, Governor S. Abdul Nazeer, and various central and state ministers.
The event took place along a 28 km stretch from RK Beach to Bhogapuram. It surpassed the record previously set in 2023 in Surat, which hosted a yoga session with 147,000 participants at one location.
"I thank each and every one of you who made this possible. Your enthusiasm and dedication have been truly inspiring. This record showcases what we can achieve when we come together with a purpose. Congratulations to everyone!" wrote CM Naidu on X.
"And we did it! Heartfelt thanks to all the participants, TDP leaders and cadre, government officials, and everyone who contributed to achieving this remarkable feat," shared Human Resources Development Minister Nara Lokesh.
