New Delhi, May 22 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate 103 upgraded railway stations virtually, spanning across 86 districts in 18 states and Union Territories on Thursday. This initiative is part of the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, aimed at enhancing the modernisation of Indian Railways.
The scheme's objective is to convert over 1,300 railway stations across the country into contemporary transport hubs, equipped with improved passenger facilities and regional architectural designs.
The 103 stations, revamped at an investment of approximately Rs 1,100 crore, are distributed across 86 districts, encompassing both major and minor stations in states like Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Puducherry, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal.
On the same day, PM Modi will visit Bikaner in Rajasthan to inaugurate various development projects exceeding Rs 26,000 crore.
During his visit, he will first pay homage at the revered Karni Mata Temple in Deshnoke, followed by a tour of the newly upgraded Deshnoke railway station, which is among the 103 stations modernised under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme.
Additionally, he will flag off the new Bikaner-Mumbai Express train. Rajasthan's Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma will accompany him throughout this significant visit.
