PM Modi to Unveil Successful Implementation of Three New Criminal Laws in Chandigarh

New Delhi, Dec 2 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi is prepared to officially dedicate the successful implementation of three groundbreaking criminal laws -- Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam, in Chandigarh on Tuesday.
The development of these laws was inspired by the guidance of Prime Minister Modi, aiming to eliminate colonial-era legislation that has persisted long after Independence. The objective is to reform the judicial framework by prioritizing justice over mere punishment.
This event carries the theme "Secure Society, Developed India- From Punishment to Justice".
The ceremony will be hosted at Punjab Engineering College (PEC), with expectations of over 5,000 attendees. Extensive preparations have been made at PEC for the Prime Minister's visit, including stringent security measures.
Significantly, Chandigarh has been chosen to host this landmark event due to its exemplary commitment to ensuring comprehensive compliance with the new laws compared to other states and Union Territories (UT).
The newly enacted criminal laws, effective nationwide from July 1, 2024, aim to enhance transparency, efficiency, and adaptability within India's legal framework to meet the demands of modern society.
These significant reforms represent a historic transformation of India's criminal justice system, introducing new structures to address contemporary issues such as cybercrime.
The program will highlight the practical implications of these laws, showcasing how they are redefining the criminal justice landscape. A live demonstration will take place, simulating a crime scene investigation where the new laws will be actively applied.
