New Delhi, March 5 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Uttarakhand on Thursday (March 6). Throughout his visit, he will pay homage to Maa Ganga and also hold a public address.

According to the itinerary, the Prime Minister will conduct a pooja and darshan at the winter residence of Maa Ganga in Mukhwa at approximately 9:30 a.m. Following this, around 10:40 a.m., he will inaugurate a trekking and biking rally, in addition to addressing attendees at a public gathering in Harsil.

This year, the Uttarakhand government has launched a Winter Tourism initiative. Thousands of visitors have already flocked to the winter abodes of Gangotri, Yamunotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath. This initiative aims to enhance religious tourism and bolster the local economy, including homestays and tourism-related businesses.

In anticipation of PM Modi’s visit, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami took to X to express his welcome to the Prime Minister.

“We are all set to warmly receive the esteemed Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji upon his arrival at Harsil and Mukhwa in Uttarkashi district. Your presence at these significant winter tourism spots will not only highlight their religious and cultural significance but also facilitate a remarkable surge in tourist and devotee numbers. Every citizen of the state is truly thrilled about this momentous event,” CM Dhami conveyed.

Previously, the Prime Minister indicated via his X handle that he would be visiting Mukhwa on Thursday to pay respect to Maa Ganga.

“We are dedicated to further enhancing the economy of the state by promoting tourism in Devbhoomi Uttarakhand. Accordingly, I will have the opportunity to worship Maa Ganga in Mukhwa tomorrow morning around 9:30 a.m. After this, I will interact with my family in Harsil,” PM Modi mentioned in a post on X.

In response to the PM’s post, CM Dhami remarked, “Respected Prime Minister, on behalf of all the residents of the state, you are warmly welcomed at Mukhwa (Uttarkashi), the winter residence of Maa Ganga. Under your inspiration and guidance, the religious sites of Devbhoomi are undergoing redevelopment. Through the winter journey, our double-engine government is consistently working to fortify the economy of the state.”
