The victim, a 33-year-old maid named Sundari Bibi, is recuperating at home after receiving medical treatment at Bowring Hospital.
While working at an apartment in Bengaluru, she was accused of theft.

Sundari further claimed that she was assaulted on her private parts, which left her unable to perform basic bodily functions.
According to her account, she had discovered money that had fallen on the floor while working and was intending to return it to her employers.
However, before she could do so, the apartment owners reportedly attacked her and handed her over to the police, who then proceeded to assault her.
