Jammu, Nov 17 (NationPress) In a significant move against drug trafficking, the police in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir announced on Monday that they have confiscated a motorcycle that was purchased using funds derived from illegal drug activities.
A statement from law enforcement indicates that in an ongoing initiative to combat drug peddling and dismantle the financial networks associated with such crimes, the District Police Reasi has seized property tied to a well-known drug dealer.
The motorcycle, registered as JK02CP-5240 and owned by Mohd Razak, son of Gafoor Ahmed, who resides in Treen, Tehsil Katra, Reasi district, was seized under Section 68-F of the NDPS Act, 1985. This action follows an extensive financial investigation initiated by the Police Station Katra related to FIR No. 198/2025 under Sections 8/21/22/29 of the NDPS Act.
The investigation revealed that the motorcycle was acquired through profits from the illegal trafficking of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances, categorizing it as an illicit asset under the provisions of the NDPS.
This seizure represents a crucial advancement in the ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking. The District Police Reasi remains steadfast in their mission to not only apprehend those involved in the drug supply chain but also to seize properties obtained through drug proceeds.
