New Delhi, Dec 31 (NationPress) Over the past ten years, the PRAGATI platform has significantly accelerated projects exceeding Rs 85 lakh crore while addressing long-standing issues through effective collaboration between the Centre and states, Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated on Wednesday.
During the 50th meeting of PRAGATI, Prime Minister Modi highlighted that the achievement of holding 50 PRAGATI meetings signifies a substantial transformation in India's governance culture, characterized by timely decision-making, accountability, and enhanced coordination among departments and states.
This landmark meeting underscored how technology-driven monitoring and consistent follow-ups have revolutionized governance practices in India.
“This methodology has directly enhanced the delivery of services on the ground, making government actions more visible in the lives of citizens,” PM Modi remarked.
Throughout the discussion, the Prime Minister evaluated five crucial infrastructure projects related to roads, railways, power, water resources, and coal.
These initiatives span five states and entail a cumulative investment exceeding Rs 40,000 crore.
PM Modi emphasized the importance of ensuring timely implementation and eliminating obstacles through ongoing monitoring.
The Prime Minister also assessed the execution of the PM SHRI scheme and indicated that it should serve as a national standard for modern and future-ready education.
“The emphasis should be on outcomes rather than merely on building infrastructure,” Prime Minister Modi pointed out.
He urged Chief Secretaries to diligently oversee the scheme and ensure that PM SHRI schools establish a model for other state-run institutions.
Furthermore, the Prime Minister recommended that senior government officials visit these schools to evaluate their performance directly.
Reflecting on the inception of PRAGATI, Prime Minister Modi mentioned that the concept was inspired by the SWAGAT platform he initiated as Chief Minister of Gujarat to address public grievances in a transparent and timely manner.
Prime Minister Modi noted that numerous projects that had been stalled for decades were initiated and finalized due to persistent monitoring under PRAGATI.
