Mumbai, Aug 9 (NationPress) Actor Pratik Gandhi has discussed the intriguing similarities between his roles in the series “Gandhi” and “Saare Jahan Se Accha”. He pointed out that, despite their seemingly opposing ideologies, both characters aim for a secure and peaceful nation.
In a conversation with IANS, Pratik elaborated on how his portrayals of Mahatma Gandhi in the upcoming series “Gandhi” and Vishnu in “Saare Jahan Se Accha” showcase a stark ideological contrast. He remarked: “Both the ideologies are opposite to each other but at the same time both the ideologies are trying to keep the country safe, avoid wars.”
Pratik highlighted the difference in portraying a historical icon like Gandhi, whose thoughts remain open to interpretation, versus playing a completely fictional character like Vishnu, which grants him full creative liberty.
“His name was Mohan and his name is Vishnu…. Both are Vishnu’s names. So, that way if I see there are a lot of parallels. But Gandhi is a biopic and Vishnu is completely a fictional character. So that way I find that fun is that maybe ideology is different but it is a little same somewhere.”
He added, “There are numerous distinctions in their lives. We are familiar with almost everything about Gandhi’s life, apart from his early days as Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi. Yet, his thoughts during critical decisions remain a mystery.”
“While many have penned books about him, what transpired in his mind is unknown. This is what I explore in developing that character.”
“In contrast, with Vishnu, the entire narrative is fictionalized and crafted. As an actor, I get to portray two vastly different characters.”
“Saare Jahan Se Accha” chronicles the gripping journey of RAW agent Vishnu Shankar, assigned a perilous mission deep within Pakistan.
