New Delhi/Bhopal, Oct 17 (NationPress) President Droupadi Murmu on Friday honored Madhya Pradesh for its commendable execution of the 'Aadi Karmayogi Abhiyan', a significant national initiative launched by the Centre.
Gulshan Bamra, the Principal Secretary of the Tribal Affairs Department in Madhya Pradesh, received this accolade on behalf of the state during the National Conclave on the 'Aadi Karmayogi Abhiyan' held at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi.
This initiative, known as the Aadi Karmayogi Abhiyan, is an ambitious national program aimed at training 20 lakh grassroots leaders, termed 'Adi Karmayogis', to provide vital services and welfare benefits to approximately 10 crore tribal citizens throughout India.
During his address on tribal development in Madhya Pradesh, Gulshan Bamra revealed that 1.41 lakh Aadi Sahayogis are actively engaged in this campaign, alongside 1.92 lakh Aadi Saathis and 1,210 NGOs.
The Abhiyan is designed to cultivate leadership at the village level within tribal regions, ensuring the effective execution of government schemes while enhancing governance accountability.
"Our objective is to cultivate three lakh change leaders who will facilitate the implementation of tribal development initiatives at the grassroots. More than 13,000 Aadi Seva Kendras have been launched to assist tribal communities," Bamra stated.
The Ministry of Tribal Affairs has branded the Aadi Karmayogi Abhiyan as the world's largest grassroots tribal leadership initiative. Rooted in the principles of Sewa, Sankalp, and Samarpan, this endeavor aligns with the government's overarching vision of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Prayas, Sabka Vishwas.”
It aims to encompass over 1 lakh tribal-dominated villages across 550 districts in 30 States and Union Territories, building upon existing flagship initiatives such as the Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan, PM JANMAN, and the National Sickle Cell Anaemia Elimination Mission.
