Prime Minister Modi Engages in In-Depth Talks on National Security at DG-IG Conference in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar, Nov 30 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi, accompanied by Union Home Minister Amit Shah and leading police officials from every part of the country, conducted an in-depth dialogue concerning diverse issues associated with policing and the nation's security on the second day of the 59th DG-IG Conference held here.

PM Modi shared on X, "The first day of the DGP/IGP Conference in Bhubaneswar was highly fruitful. We deliberated on various topics concerning policing and security," and included photographs from the gathering.

On the second day of the three-day DGP conference, which was inaugurated by HM Amit Shah on November 29, PM Modi participated actively.

During the meeting, the leaders of police forces from all states and central security agencies are examining multiple facets to devise a strategy that addresses both current and emerging national security threats, such as LWE, Coastal Security, Narcotics, Cyber Crime, and Economic Security.

Reports indicate that the delegates will also assess the advancements in the implementation of the new Criminal Laws and share best practices and initiatives in policing within their respective jurisdictions.

Earlier, while inaugurating the conference on Friday, the Home Minister highlighted the significance of the security apparatus in realizing Prime Minister Modi's vision of a 'Viksit Bharat' by 2047 and establishing India as the third-largest economy by 2027.

The Home Minister also underscored the importance of addressing emerging security challenges along the eastern border, immigration issues, and trends in urban policing.

He advocated for a proactive approach towards a zero-tolerance strategy and emphasized the need for decisive action to enforce this policy.

HM Shah further noted that under PM Modi's leadership, India is enhancing its police force to effectively tackle new-age challenges and combat the underlying causes of crime and terrorism.

He remarked that the DG-IG Conference serves as a platform for knowledge exchange aimed at strengthening policing across all states through cooperative efforts.

It is noteworthy that PM Modi and Home Minister Shah arrived in Bhubaneswar on November 29 to participate in the three-day DG-IG conference from November 29 to December 1.
