Jammu, Jan 2 (NationPress) The Jammu and Kashmir Police announced on Friday that they have attached the property of a terror handler based in Pakistan located in the Mandi area of the district.
A statement from the police noted, "In a significant legal measure against terrorism and anti-national elements operating from across the border, Poonch Police have attached an immovable asset belonging to a Pakistan-based terror handler, adhering to the directives of the Honourable Court."
"This attachment is related to FIR No. 07/2002 filed at Police Station Mandi under Sections 2/3 of the E&IMCO Act. The seized property consists of 06 Kanal 13.5 Marlas of land, identified by Khasra Nos. 291, 292, 287, 271, 222, 222/1, 221, 186, 180, and 97 (min), situated in Tehsil Mandi, District Poonch, with an estimated value of around Rs 13.36 lakh," the statement added.
The property is owned by Jamal Lone, also known as Jamala, the son of Sultan Lone, who resides in Chamber Kanari, Tehsil Mandi, District Poonch, and is currently active as a Pakistan-based terror handler.
The accused had previously fled to Pakistan/PoJK and has been involved in activities detrimental to the security and sovereignty of India.
Due to his evasion of legal processes, the accused was declared a Proclaimed Offender by the Hon’ble Court.
Despite ongoing efforts by the Poonch Police to apprehend him, he has remained elusive, prompting the Hon’ble Court to order the attachment of his property.
Following these directives, the Poonch Police, in close collaboration with the Revenue Department, executed the attachment after ensuring all legal protocols, verifications, and documentation were completed.
This action is part of a broader strategy aimed at dismantling the financial and logistical support networks of terror organizations to ensure that individuals involved in terrorism and anti-national acts are stripped of their resources, the statement emphasized.
