Chandigarh, Oct 9 (NationPress) In a significant achievement against the terror framework supported by Pakistan’s ISI, Counter Intelligence Jalandhar dismantled a Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) terror cell managed by UK-based operatives Nishan Jaurian and Adesh Jamarai, following directives from BKI mastermind Harwinder Singh Rinda, as announced by Punjab’s Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav on Thursday.
The police seized 2.5 kg of IED (Improvised Explosive Device)/RDX along with a remote control from BKI operatives Gurjinder Singh and Diwan Singh, who were apprehended in Jalandhar.
Initial investigations indicate that the IED was meant for a specific terror strike.
A First Information Report (FIR) has been filed in Amritsar under pertinent Sections of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) and the Explosive Substances Act.
Recently, DGP Yadav conducted a state-level law and order meeting with senior officers, including those at the level of Station House Officers (SHOs), to formulate a detailed action plan aimed at ensuring a peaceful festive season.
He empowered officers to confront gangsters and anti-social elements without hesitation.
“Every officer, from the Constable to the SSP, will be held accountable, and no leniency will be permitted regarding gangsters and drug-related issues,” he cautioned during a virtual meeting with officers on September 30.
He emphasized the importance of thorough investigations to identify connections and trace the origins of consignments to apprehend the “big fish.”
He instructed that seized mobile devices from notorious suppliers be analyzed for forensic evidence to uncover the network and facilitate additional arrests.
He also urged officials to pinpoint associates of gangsters and ensure their incarceration.

The DGP reiterated the government’s zero-tolerance policy towards corruption, asserting that anyone, regardless of rank, found guilty of corruption will face severe and exemplary actions.
