Chandigarh, Jan 28 (NationPress) Punjab Police have successfully dismantled a narco terror network backed by Pakistan’s ISI, run by Harpreet Singh, known as Happy Passian, and Sarwan Bhola, both operating from the U.S.. This operation led to the arrest of two individuals accused of launching a hand grenade at a police post in Amritsar, as stated by Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav on Tuesday.

The arrested suspects are identified as Bagga Singh, hailing from Guru Teg Bahadur Nagar in Sirsa, Haryana, and Puskaran Singh from Amritsar. Police investigations have uncovered one hand grenade and two advanced pistols, along with ammunition in their possession.

Reports indicate that the hand grenade was thrown at the Gumtala Police Post in the Amritsar Commissionerate on January 9. Following this incident, the terrorist group BKI claimed responsibility via social media.

DGP Yadav revealed that the arrested Bagga Singh is related to Sarwan Bhola, who is the sibling of the infamous smuggler Ranjit Singh, aka Cheeta, currently imprisoned in Bathinda over a 532-kg heroin case. Notably, Sarwan Bhola is also a wanted individual in a similar heroin case and has a reward of Rs 2 lakh from the National Investigation Agency (NIA).

According to the DGP, Bhola has been managing a drug smuggling operation from the U.S. and has directed his relative Bagga Singh and associate Puskaran to collaborate with Happy Passian and Harvinder Rinda for executing terror activities in the state.

Ongoing investigations are being conducted rigorously to trace connections and expose the full extent of this terror network.

In detailing the operation, Assistant Inspector General (Amritsar) Sukhminder Singh Mann noted that following the attack on the Gumtala police post, police initiated an intelligence operation, leading to the capture of Bagga Singh in Sirsa and Puskaran Singh in Amritsar, resulting in the recovery of explosives and firearms.
