Punjab to Host Celebrations for 350th Martyrdom Anniversary of Guru Teg Bahadur

Chandigarh, Dec 16 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Punjab, Bhagwant Singh Mann, revealed on Monday that a sequence of events will be organized to pay tribute to the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Guru Teg Bahadur.

During a review meeting with the Tourism Department, the Chief Minister emphasized that the government intends to observe this momentous occasion on a grand scale. Numerous functions will be held throughout the state, and comprehensive development of sites associated with the Guru Sahib will be prioritized.

Mann instructed the department to devise a thorough plan for the events.

He stated that Guru Teg Bahadur sacrificed his life to safeguard the right to worship and uphold human and secular principles. The Guru's remarkable sacrifice is unmatched in the annals of human history and represents the fight against tyranny and oppression.

Mann asserted that the ninth Sikh Guru dedicated his life to ensuring the protection of human rights in the nation.

Reaffirming the government's commitment to enhancing tourism, the Chief Minister approved the organization of the Rangla Punjab festival in February. The aim of this festival is to present Punjab as a leading global tourist destination, highlighting the state's rich cultural heritage and stunning attractions that can entice visitors from around the world.

Mann noted the significant potential for developing Punjab as a preferred tourist spot, urging that all possible efforts be made to tap into the state's untapped tourism potential to draw in tourists.

The Chief Minister envisions that this festival will serve as a catalyst for the socio-economic advancement of Punjab, opening new employment opportunities for the youth by fostering tourism.

He remarked that now is the opportune moment to showcase vibrant and blessed Punjab to the world, significantly boosting tourism.

Mann concluded that this festival is expected to attract a substantial number of tourists, enhancing the economy of Punjab.
