New Delhi, Oct 27 (NationPress) Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has officially invited Droupadi Murmu, the President of India, to grace the events honoring the 350th martyrdom day of Guru Teg Bahadur in the revered city of Sri Anandpur Sahib.
During a meeting at the Rashtrapati Bhawan, CM Mann expressed his hope that the President would participate in the significant celebrations for this monumental occasion.
An official announcement from the Chief Minister indicated that he has encouraged President Droupadi Murmu to engage in the historic festivities, with the details of her visit to be arranged shortly.
He further stated that a comprehensive official agenda for the events has been provided to the President, who has been invited to partake in these ceremonies at her convenience.
CM Mann informed the President that the Punjab government has meticulously planned numerous activities to celebrate this extraordinary event throughout the state.
The Chief Minister vowed that the state will host grand and memorable ceremonies, which he hopes will be observed with profound respect and reverence statewide. The primary events will unfold on the sacred grounds of Sri Anandpur Sahib.
As part of the commemorative activities, CM Mann noted that events began on Saturday, following the Punjab government's ardas at Gurdwara Sis Ganj Sahib in Delhi, followed by a large kirtan darbar at Gurdwara Sri Rakab Ganj Sahib.
From November 1 to 18, light-and-sound shows will be held across all districts of Punjab, depicting the life and philosophy of Guru Teg Bahadur.
In addition, kirtan darbars will be organized in towns and cities blessed by Guru Sahib’s visits, culminating in a special kirtan darbar in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir on November 18.
On November 19, a nagar kirtan will take place in Srinagar, featuring participation from hundreds of Kashmiri Pandits.
