Chandigarh, Aug 19 (NationPress) The Punjab Industries Minister, Sanjeev Arora, announced on Tuesday that the state government intends to establish a distinct authority dedicated to overseeing all industrial focal points, aimed at addressing the various challenges faced by industrialists.
He mentioned that tenders worth Rs 100 crore have been issued for enhancing the focal points, which will include improvements to sewerage systems, installation of CCTV cameras, lighting, roadworks, and other necessary arrangements.
In a statement, Arora outlined plans to create exhibition centers in Mohali, Amritsar, and Ludhiana in the near future for the benefit of industrialists. To promote industrial development in Punjab, events titled “Rising Punjab -- From Suggestions to Solutions” are being organized in major cities, with the first event having commenced in Amritsar on Tuesday.
“We are launching fresh initiatives for industrialists and developing new strategies,” he stated.
Reflecting on previous achievements, he noted that an investment totaling Rs 1.14 lakh crore has been made in Punjab, creating jobs for approximately 450,000 individuals.
Arora explained, “We have resolved long-standing issues dating back 42 years through a one-time settlement scheme, significantly benefiting plot holders. We are granting ownership rights to leasehold plot holders, facilitating easier financial transactions.”
He stated that all industry setup approvals in Punjab will be completed within 45 days, with approvals expected to begin as early as the third to fourth day. This process can be initiated online, eliminating the need for in-person office visits.
Arora further mentioned that most industrial issues are being resolved via phone, ensuring industrialists do not feel the need to physically visit offices.
To elevate industry standards, the government has established 24 committees across various sectors, comprising members who are not politicians but professionals with direct ties to their respective industries.
