New Delhi/Moscow Dec 5 (NationPress) As his significant visit to India came to a close on Friday evening, Russian President Vladimir Putin agreed to take a photograph with several hotel staff members at his accommodation in New Delhi, as reported by Russian media.
According to Russia's prominent Tass news agency, President Putin could not decline the request from the hotel staff during his two-day state visit to India. A video shared by a traveling journalist on his Telegram channel shows the Russian leader posing with the hotel staff.
After the group photo, the Russian President acknowledged the staff's expressions of gratitude and said his farewells. Those who captured the moment quickly started reviewing the photographs on their cameras, the report mentioned.
Prior to his departure, Indian President Droupadi Murmu hosted a state reception in honor of the Russian leader.
Earlier that day, Putin expressed appreciation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the warm reception extended to his delegation, noting that he has developed a close working and personal relationship with the Indian PM. They continually track the progress of Russian-Indian cooperation across various strategic domains.
“The discussions we just concluded with our Indian counterparts, along with our previous conversation last night at Mr. Modi's residence over dinner — I want to express my gratitude once more for this thoughtful gesture — were very constructive and took place in a friendly atmosphere, reflecting the special partnership between Russia and India,” stated the Russian President following extensive discussions with PM Modi at the Hyderabad House during the 23rd India-Russia Annual Summit.
Putin emphasized that he and the Prime Minister have established a strong working and personal connection, having met earlier this year at the SCO summit and maintained regular communication.
During their meeting, both leaders covered the various dimensions of India-Russia relations, which remain deeply rooted and complex. They reaffirmed their commitment to further enhancing the Special and Privileged Strategic Partnership between their nations while also discussing regional and global issues of common interest.
Putin remarked that both parties “thoroughly examined” the range of current challenges in Russian-Indian cooperation and shared insights on urgent global and regional matters.
“The joint statement we adopted with Mr. Modi detailed priority objectives aimed at strengthening our ties in politics, security, economics, trade, humanitarian matters, and culture. Additionally, a substantial collection of intergovernmental, interdepartmental, and corporate agreements was signed,” he noted.
The leaders witnessed the exchange of several key documents, including Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs) related to Trade and Commerce, Migration and Mobility, Maritime Cooperation, Health and Food Safety, Fertilizers, Academic Exchanges, Media Cooperation, and enhancing People-to-People ties.
