New Delhi, Nov 16 (NationPress) Vice-President C. P. Radhakrishnan underscored the significance of accountability, transparency, and integrity in preserving Bharat's moral wealth, praising the vital role of the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) of India.
As the Chief Guest at the Audit Diwas Celebrations 2025, he referred to the CAG as the “guardian of the public purse”, recognizing its crucial contributions.
The Vice-President emphasized that the CAG's commitment to fairness and truth in auditing reinforces the pillars of accountability, transparency, and integrity that constitute Bharat's moral wealth.
He also recognized the CAG's initiative of “One Nation, One Set of Object Heads of Expenditure” for both the Union and State Governments, a reform that will greatly improve the transparency and comparability of government spending.
Additionally, Radhakrishnan noted the CAG's enhanced global standing as the External Auditor for international bodies such as the World Health Organisation (WHO) and the International Labour Organisation (ILO).
He pointed out that the CAG is currently chairing the Asian Organisation of Supreme Audit Institutions (ASOSAI), symbolizing Bharat's transformation from a follower to a global leader.
