Their discussions were fruitful in exploring ways to deepen the multifaceted ties between India and Sri Lanka, which are founded on shared history and cultural values."
Moreover, Radhakrishnan reaffirmed India’s dedication to the Neighbourhood First policy, aiming to enhance cooperation for mutual benefit. The talks also encompassed various projects, including the Indian Housing Project and initiatives under the USD 450 million package designated for regions impacted by Cyclone Ditwah in Sri Lanka.
Additionally, the visit included meetings with Sri Lanka’s political leadership, as Radhakrishnan held discussions with Leader of the Opposition Sajith Premadasa in Colombo on Sunday. The MEA reported, "During Vice President C P Radhakrishnan's visit to Sri Lanka, Leader of Opposition Sajith Premadasa met with the Vice President in Colombo. They discussed enhancing the bilateral relationship between India and Sri Lanka."
