Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge used the occasion to highlight Gandhi’s political identity, posting on X: “Warm birthday wishes to Shri @RahulGandhi. Your unbridled dedication to the ideals of the Constitution and your uncompromising fight for the unheard voices have inspired millions.” Kharge added that Gandhi’s public life embodied the Congress party’s core values of “inclusiveness, social justice, harmony and compassion.”

The Congress party’s official handle also posted: “Happy Birthday to Shri Rahul Gandhi. In a world where most choose to stay silent, you have consistently chosen to speak up for what you believe is right.”

Karnataka Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar praised Gandhi’s engagement with diverse sections of society. “Whether it is the aspirations of our youth, the concerns of farmers, the dreams of women or the voices of the marginalised, you have consistently sought to bring their hopes and concerns to the centre of our national discourse,” Shivakumar said.

Who Is Rahul Gandhi

Born on 19 June 1970, Rahul Gandhi is the son of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi and former Congress President Sonia Gandhi. He completed his early schooling at St. Columba’s School, New Delhi and The Doon School, Dehradun, before security concerns following his father’s political rise led to a period of homeschooling for him and his sister, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra.

Gandhi pursued higher education at Harvard University in the United States and later transferred to Rollins College, Florida, completing his bachelor’s degree in 1994 following the assassination of his father in 1991.
