Bhopal, Nov 10 (NationPress) Senior BJP figure Narottam Mishra took a swipe at Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of the Opposition (LoP) in the Lok Sabha and Congress MP, claiming he is on track to establish a world record for the most electoral failures, potentially leading to the destruction of the Congress party.
Mishra, who previously served as the State Home Minister under the BJP administration, asserted that the Congress has faced defeat in approximately 70 elections during Rahul Gandhi’s leadership.
“The faith of Congress leaders and workers in Rahul Gandhi has diminished. Since he entered active politics in 2004, the party has lost 70 elections. It appears that he is poised to achieve a world record of 100 defeats in the coming years,” Mishra commented.
His remarks were a response to Rahul Gandhi’s allegations regarding vote theft and his opposition to the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise in various states and union territories, including Madhya Pradesh.
“Following a series of defeats, notably in three consecutive Lok Sabha elections (2014, 2019, and 2024), doubts regarding his leadership have surfaced among Congress leaders and workers. He has not provided a truthful account of why Congress has lost so many elections under his guidance,” the BJP leader added.
In response to Rahul Gandhi’s recent visit to Pachmadhi in Madhya Pradesh, Narottam Mishra claimed the Congress leader was merely on a “holiday” in the hill station and the Satpura Tiger Reserve (STR).
He reiterated the BJP’s stance that Rahul Gandhi has acknowledged the results of the Bihar elections, which is why he has come to Madhya Pradesh.
Notably, Rahul Gandhi interacted with senior Congress leaders during his visit to Pachmadhi and conducted a training session for district presidents on November 8 and 9. He also held private meetings with some senior leaders from Madhya Pradesh.
Before departing Madhya Pradesh on November 9, Rahul Gandhi stated during a brief media interaction that he possesses significant data on vote theft and intends to reveal the supposed manipulation of elections across the country at various intervals.
During his visit to the Satpura Tiger Reserve (STR) on Sunday, Rahul Gandhi also remarked that the SIR exercise is merely a cover-up for the vote theft allegedly perpetrated by the ruling BJP.
