New Delhi, July 12 (NationPress) Intermittent rainfall is anticipated across vast areas of the nation until July 17, as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts heavy to very heavy precipitation in numerous locales, particularly the National Capital Region (NCR).
The NCR is currently grappling with waterlogging and traffic disruptions in various locations due to the precipitation, which has already impacted daily activities.
In Delhi-NCR, rain is expected to persist throughout the week, with instances of intense sunlight contributing to humidity and discomfort.
Although no official weather alert has been released for the Delhi-NCR, the IMD has cautioned about ongoing rain and thunderstorms. Temperatures are projected to range from 23 to 36 degrees Celsius, with humidity levels possibly fluctuating between 60% and 95%.
Reports of waterlogging have emerged from various areas in Delhi, Noida, Ghaziabad, and Gurugram, resulting in extended traffic jams and vehicle malfunctions in submerged regions. Key roads, underpasses, and residential neighborhoods are significantly impacted.
The IMD forecasts heavy to very heavy rainfall over Central and Northwest India, especially in East Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, and both western and eastern Uttar Pradesh until July 17.
Isolated intense rain is also anticipated in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Bihar, Odisha, and West Bengal (including both Gangetic and Sub-Himalayan regions) in eastern and central India.
On July 13, isolated heavy showers are expected in regions of Konkan & Goa, Gujarat, Central Maharashtra, and Saurashtra.
The weather department predicts light to moderate rain accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning will continue over the next week in Northeast India.
Southern states such as Coastal Karnataka, Kerala, South Interior Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu are also likely to experience isolated heavy showers during this timeframe.
Fishermen are advised to refrain from venturing into the Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal until July 16.
