Jaipur, April 21 (NationPress) Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma highlighted the essential role of public servants in fortifying the democratic structure, asserting that their commitment is crucial for fostering a developed India and a developed Rajasthan.

Addressing an audience during the Public Service Day at the Harish Chandra Mathur Rajasthan State Institute of Public Administration in Jaipur's Jhalana Doongri, he launched the Karmayogi Skill Development Week and awarded the Chief Minister's Excellence Awards and Rajasthan Sampark Portal Awards to officials for exemplary administrative performance and effective redressal of citizen grievances.

CM Sharma stressed the necessity of ensuring that government initiatives reach even the last individual in the queue. He urged public servants to fulfill their responsibilities with diligence, sensitivity, and integrity, and to hold regular public hearings to provide timely assistance to citizens.

Referencing Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, who spoke to IAS officers on this date in 1947, calling them the 'steel frame' of India’s governance, Chief Minister Sharma articulated that genuine public service entails selfless dedication to the welfare of the populace.

He emphasized that the spirit of service should be inspired by esteemed leaders like Mahatma Gandhi, Sardar Patel, B.R. Ambedkar, and A.P.J. Abdul Kalam.

CM Sharma encouraged extensive utilization of technology in governance to maintain a corruption-free and accountable system. He noted that digital innovations are being adopted across various departments, including the introduction of an e-file system at the village level to enhance government operations, making them paperless and efficient.

Reiterating the state’s commitment to good governance, the Chief Minister mentioned that over 1.5 crore public grievances have been resolved through the Rajasthan Sampark Portal. In the last year alone, more than 99 percent of the 33 lakh registered complaints were addressed, positioning Rajasthan among the top three states in the country during the Good Governance Week.

He also discussed recent policy initiatives such as One District-One Product, New Tourism Unit Policy, Integrated Clean Energy Policy, and New Mineral Policy, all designed to enhance investment and employment opportunities in the state.

Highlighting the achievements of the Hariyalo Rajasthan Abhiyan, CM Sharma reported that 7.22 crore saplings were planted last year under the 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' initiative, with a target of 10 crore saplings set for this year.

He also mentioned the success of the Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit, where MoUs worth Rs 35 lakh crore were signed, with Rs 3 lakh crore currently in the implementation phase.

Discussing future development, the Chief Minister stated that the state's vision for Developed Rajasthan 2047 is being pursued by bolstering infrastructure such as electricity, water, and roads.

Projects like the Ramjal Setu and Yamuna Water Agreement will ensure adequate water supply for consumption and irrigation, he noted. Under the Jal Jeevan Mission, the state is striving to provide drinking water to every village.

Additionally, he outlined major infrastructure projects, including nine greenfield expressways, new ring roads, bridges, and the Atal Path project in villages, which will rejuvenate sectors like business, tourism, and agriculture.

"Our sole objective is to transform the image and fate of Rajasthan," CM Sharma concluded, reaffirming the government's dedication to effective public service and comprehensive development.

During the event, the Chief Minister also assessed departmental innovations, best practices, and advancements in grievance redressal via the Rajasthan Sampark Portal.
