Is Rajasthan the First State to Achieve 100% Digitized Voter List Under SIR?
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Jaipur, Dec 6 (NationPress) Rajasthan has reached a significant milestone in electoral reform, becoming the first state in India to achieve complete digitisation of its voter list under the Special Intensive Revision-2026 (SIR–2026).
This accomplishment signifies a major advancement towards a modern, transparent, and citizen-centric electoral administration.
The Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Rajasthan, Naveen Mahajan, hailed this achievement as a “collective success of Team Rajasthan”.
He noted that Booth Level Officers (BLOs), supervisors, Assistant Electoral Registration Officers, Electoral Registration Officers, District Election Officers, and field teams from both rural and urban areas collaborated with exemplary coordination, speed, and discipline to realize this initiative.
According to CEO Mahajan, over 97 percent of voter mapping is complete, indicating that only a mere three percent of voters will need to submit documentation during the claims and objections phase.
On average, CEO Mahajan stated that approximately 30 voters per polling station will need to provide documentation.
This precise mapping has streamlined the process, making it quicker and more transparent while enhancing booth-wise voter verification and reducing redundant paperwork.
The Election Department has fortified systems, including ECINET, the BLO app, portal-based verification tools, and district helpline services, to ensure a seamless, secure, and tech-driven process.
Clear guidelines and ongoing monitoring were enforced at every operational level, he added.
CEO Mahajan attributed the success to micro-management, teamwork, and technology, particularly commending the diligent efforts of BLOs and grassroots personnel.
Expressing his gratitude, CEO Mahajan thanked the voters of Rajasthan for their cooperation and awareness during the verification process.
He praised the involvement of senior citizens, individuals with disabilities, laborers, and residents from remote areas as a testament to the state's robust democratic principles.
According to the forthcoming schedule, the deadline for draft electoral roll publication is set for December 16, while the final voter list will be published by February 14, 2026.
CEO Mahajan urged all eligible voters to verify their details once the draft list is available and to actively engage in the upcoming phases of the SIR.
