Jaipur, Oct 29 (NationPress) The Chief Electoral Officer of Rajasthan, Naveen Mahajan, convened a meeting with representatives from recognized political parties in Jaipur on Wednesday. He provided them with insights regarding the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the Voter Lists 2026.

During the meeting, he revealed that the Election Commission of India has set the timeline for the second phase of the SIR, which encompasses Rajasthan, with the process already underway in the state.

Mahajan noted that Rajasthan is at the forefront of deploying Booth Level Agents (BLAs), having initiated recruitment ahead of other states. Consequently, Rajasthan has achieved the highest number of BLAs among all the states participating in Phase 2.

He called upon all recognized political parties to ensure the mandatory appointment of BLAs at the remaining booths to facilitate effective coordination and maintain transparency throughout the voter list revision.

The Chief Electoral Officer mentioned that the voter list has been frozen since the special revision began. The previous voter lists can be accessed via the Election Commission of India’s website (voters.eci.gov.in) and the Chief Electoral Officer of Rajasthan’s website (election.rajasthan.gov.in).

Additionally, he indicated that Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will perform three rounds of door-to-door visits to gather enumeration forms from voters.

Currently, around 70 percent of voters in Rajasthan have been mapped, with expectations to increase this to 85 percent soon, thereby minimizing the requirement for document submissions.

He stressed that voters must complete Form 6 to add new names, emphasizing that submitting false declarations in enumeration forms could result in fines or imprisonment under election laws.

Mahajan elaborated that the SIR process commenced on October 28, 2025, and will persist until February 7, 2026. Training sessions and form printing will occur from October 28 to November 3, while BLOs will conduct door-to-door surveys from November 4 to December 4, 2025.

The draft voter list is slated for publication on December 9, followed by a window for filing claims and objections from December 9, 2025, to January 9, 2026.

Document verification will conclude by January 31, 2026, with the final voter list being published on February 7, 2026.

Representatives present at the meeting included members from the Indian National Congress, Bharatiya Janata Party, Bahujan Samaj Party, Aam Aadmi Party, Bharat Adivasi Party, and Rashtriya Loktantrik Party.
